I hold several retreats per year with focus on awakening through silent sitting and trans lineage meditation instruction.
If I were allowed only one practice for the rest of my life, it would be sitting still and letting the silence do the work. Though it’s a technology best suited for Waking up, in many ways the long term impacts of meditation usually have a profound effect on Growing up and Cleaning up as well.
Having been trained in Therevada, Mahayana (Zen and Mahamudra) and, lesser so, in Vajrayana Buddhist schools, I favor an approach of offering trans-lineage guided meditations which “point out” specific states of consciousness. Instructions are followed by periods of silence. Retreat format varies and I will announce the theme or curriculum of any upcoming retreats here.

This is a chance to learn the fundamentals of Inquiry which is the central practice of Mitra. There will be short meditations, breakouts and teachings. A generous amount of our time will be working with me, assisting your individual unfoldment as we put the three principles of Mitra Inquiry to use: Presence, Unfoldment and Truth.

What’s the difference between concentration, mindfulness and emptiness? Does defining them more clearly help benefit our meditation practice? Can too much screen time really make us idiots? Let's see!

I experience Chad as welcoming and invitational, relaxed and precisely present, with a wonderfully paradoxical combination of rigor and ease, each moment both spacious and infused with insight and compassion.
